2023 Hosts
Novartis Basel
Novartis Basel Campus has the privilege of hosting the 2023 Automated Synthesis Forum traditionally located in the UK.
Home to more than 700 companies along with institutes and universities, Basel is one of the world’s most important hubs for research and development.

The Novartis Campus is located in Basel, positioned along the Rhein on the border between France and Germany. The Campus is well connected by public transport to the city centre as well as the airport, with direct flights linking Basel to key European cities.
The Novartis Campus in Basel is the global company headquarters and serves around 8000 employees. A place for new ideas and perspectives in the field of life sciences, a place where medicine is reimagined.
In 2020, the Novartis Campus Basel was opened to start-ups, institutes, companies, and partners active in the field of life sciences as the next step on the journey towards reinforcing the site as a campus of knowledge.
Further strengthening the dialogue between the life sciences industry and society at large, the Novartis Campus was opened to the general public in October 2022.
The Campus is home to a diverse collection of art as well as buildings developed by exceptional architects including Frank Gehry, David Chipperfield, and Kazuyo Sejima. For the Novartis employees, it is a hub of contemporary, forward-looking office and lab spaces interspersed with green areas, restaurants, cafés, shops and services.
Enabling dialogue and collaboration through architecture and spatial design was the vision behind architect Vittorio Magnago Lampugnani’s original master plan which now shapes the character of this former industrial complex.
